"The California Citrus Story" is a colorful and engaging composite exhibit filled with historical images and brilliantly colored citrus labels that were originally used to sell the California dream of an "Orange for Health - California for Wealth". This is a story of "The Place", " The People", "The Citrus Industry" and its legacies. The distinctive "orange" stimulated a "romance". The Southern Pacific Co. recognized this unique value and nurtured the growth of this industry which induced the colonization and population expansion of Southern California. This bright tapestry spotlights California history though woven inseparably are stories of marketing, agricultural linked concerns, banking, economics, industrial sociology, etc. History does not belong to the antiquated past. The echos of the past can be heard today....
